PET/CT Scans

A PET/CT scan combines two imaging techniques to provide detailed information about your body's tissues and organs. The PET (Positron Emission Tomography) component uses a small amount of radioactive substance to highlight areas of high metabolic activity, often indicating disease or abnormal cell growth. The CT (Computed Tomography) part creates detailed cross-sectional images of the body's internal structures. When combined, PET/CT scans give doctors a comprehensive view, helping them diagnose, stage, and monitor conditions like cancer, heart disease, and infections accurately and non-invasively.
