Person-In-Environment Perspective
The Person-In-Environment (PIE) perspective is a way of understanding an individual by considering both their personal characteristics and the context they live in, such as family, work, community, and social systems. It recognizes that a person's behavior, challenges, and strengths are influenced not only by who they are but also by their environment. This approach helps professionals develop more effective support or intervention strategies by looking at the whole picture — the person and their surroundings — rather than just focusing on symptoms or issues in isolation.
