Person-Environment-Occupation Model

The Person-Environment-Occupation (PEO) Model is a way to understand how people do things in their daily lives. It looks at three interconnected parts: the person’s abilities, feelings, and skills; the environment, including physical space, social support, and culture; and the specific activities or tasks they want or need to do. When these three areas work well together, a person can perform their daily activities successfully and feel a sense of satisfaction. If there's a mismatch—like an environment that's too difficult or an activity that's too challenging—it can affect a person’s ability to engage meaningfully in life.
