Perry's expeditions

Meriwether Lewis and William Clark, known collectively as the Lewis and Clark Expedition, were tasked by President Thomas Jefferson in 1804 to explore the Louisiana Purchase and find a practical route to the Pacific Ocean. They journeyed over 8,000 miles from Missouri to Oregon, mapping uncharted territories, documenting plants and animals, and establishing relationships with Native American tribes. Their expedition provided valuable geographic and scientific knowledge, facilitated westward expansion, and laid the groundwork for future exploration and settlement of the American West.
