Permanent Court of International Justice (PCIJ)

The Permanent Court of International Justice (PCIJ) was an international tribunal established in 1922 to resolve disputes between countries and clarify international law. It was part of the League of Nations and helped promote peaceful resolution of conflicts through binding rulings. The court operated until 1946, when it was replaced by the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which continues to serve as the primary judicial branch of the United Nations. The PCIJ played a key role in developing international legal principles and setting precedents for how nations resolve disagreements peacefully.
