Periodic Law

The Periodic Law states that when elements are arranged by increasing atomic number, their properties repeat in regular, predictable patterns called periods. This periodicity occurs because elements with similar electron configurations—especially in their outer shells—exhibit similar chemical behaviors. This organization is reflected in the periodic table, which groups elements with comparable properties into columns (groups). Overall, the Periodic Law helps scientists understand and predict how elements behave based on their position, highlighting the underlying structure of the elements and their relationships.
