Perceptual Internalism
Perceptual Internalism is a philosophical view about how we know what we perceive. It suggests that our knowledge depends primarily on factors within our minds—like our internal states, beliefs, or the understanding of our perceptions—rather than on external things in the world. According to this view, for us to know something through perception, it’s enough that we have the right internal mental conditions; the external environment isn’t directly part of the justification. In short, internalist sees our access to knowledge as centered on internal mental processes, even if external factors also influence what we perceive.
