Perception and Illusion
Perception is the process by which our brain interprets sensory information from our eyes, ears, and other senses to create an understanding of our environment. Illusion occurs when this interpretation is misleading or distorted, causing us to see or interpret something differently from reality. For example, optical illusions trick our visual perception, making us see movement or shapes that aren’t there. Both perception and illusion highlight how our brain actively constructs our experience of the world, relying on sensory input combined with mental processes, which can sometimes lead to errors or surprising perceptions.
