People's War Group

The People's War Group (PWG) was an Indian Marxist-Leninist insurgent organization founded in the 1980s. It aimed to overthrow the Indian government through armed struggle, advocating for land reforms and social justice for marginalized communities. Operating mainly in rural areas, the group engaged in guerrilla warfare, including bombings and attacks on government and corporate targets. In 2008, it merged with other groups to form the Communist Party of India (Maoist), continuing its revolutionary activities under a different name. The PWG was classified as a terrorist organization by Indian authorities due to its violent tactics.
