People's Socialist Republic of Albania

The People's Socialist Republic of Albania was the official name of Albania from 1946 until 1991, during a period dominated by communist rule. After World War II, the country was led by Enver Hoxha, who established a one-party state heavily influenced by Stalinist ideology. Under Hoxha, Albania became isolated from the West and even distanced itself from other communist countries. The government focused on collectivization, industrialization, and strict control over the economy and society. The regime ended in 1991, leading to the establishment of a multiparty democracy and a shift towards a market economy.
