The Pentagon Attack refers to a terrorist act on September 11, 2001, during which hijackers took control of American Airlines Flight 77 and crashed it into the Pentagon, the U.S. Department of Defense headquarters in Arlington, Virginia. This attack was part of a coordinated effort by the extremist group al-Qaeda, which targeted multiple locations in the United States. The crash caused extensive damage, killed 125 people in the Pentagon and all 59 passengers on the plane, and heightened national security concerns, leading to significant changes in U.S. policy and military operations.
