The Penrose-Hameroff Orch OR (Orchestrated Objective Reduction) model suggests that consciousness arises from quantum processes within neuronal microtubules—tiny structures inside brain cells. It proposes that quantum states in microtubules undergo orchestrated collapses, or reductions, which produce moments of conscious awareness.
