Penile Implant Surgery
Penile implant surgery is a procedure to treat erectile dysfunction when other treatments haven't worked. It involves inserting a device inside the penis that allows a man to achieve and maintain an erection. Typically, two or three connected inflatable or semi-rigid cylinders are placed inside the erectile tissue. Inflatable implants can be pumped to create an erection and deflated afterward, while semi-rigid rods are always firm but bendable. The surgery is usually done under anesthesia, and most men find it improves their sexual confidence and satisfaction. Recovery time varies, but many can resume normal activities within a few weeks.
