Penile curvature
Penile curvature refers to an abnormal bend or twist of the penis during an erection. This condition, known as Peyronie’s disease when caused by scar tissue, can vary in severity and may lead to discomfort, difficulty with sexual activity, or emotional distress. The curvature results from fibrous plaques developing inside the tunica albuginea, the tissue surrounding the erectile chambers. It can occur gradually or suddenly and may be associated with pain. Treatment options include medication, physical therapy, or surgery, especially if the curvature causes significant problems or discomfort.
