Penaeidae

Penaeidae is a family of shrimps commonly known as penaeid or penaeid shrimps. These marine crustaceans are important both ecologically and economically, as they are a major source of seafood worldwide. They typically have elongated bodies with a rod-like shape, transparent or whitish coloration, and prominent claws. Penaeids dwell in warm, shallow waters, often near the sea floor.
