Pemon people
The Pemon people are an Indigenous group native to the Gran Sabana region of southeastern Venezuela and parts of northern Brazil. They are part of the Carib linguistic and cultural family and have a rich tradition of storytelling, art, and spiritual beliefs connected to their environment. The Pemon traditionally rely on hunting, fishing, and agriculture, and they play a vital role in conserving their land and cultural heritage. Today, they are active in advocating for their rights, land protection, and maintaining their language and customs amid modern challenges.
