Pelvic Organ Prolapse (POP)
Pelvic Organ Prolapse (POP) occurs when the muscles and tissues supporting the pelvic organs—like the bladder, uterus, or rectum—become weak or stretched, causing these organs to shift from their normal position and droop into the vaginal canal. This can lead to symptoms such as a feeling of pressure or fullness, bulging, discomfort, or urinary and bowel problems. Factors like childbirth, aging, or increased pressure from heavy lifting or obesity can contribute. While common, especially with age, POP is treatable through lifestyle changes, pelvic exercises, or surgical options if needed.
