Pelvic examinations

A pelvic examination is a routine medical check to assess the health of a woman's reproductive organs. During the exam, a healthcare provider gently examines the vulva, vagina, cervix, uterus, ovaries, and pelvis using gloved fingers and a speculum, which helps visualize the cervix. The purpose is to detect infections, abnormalities, or other conditions. It may also include a Pap smear to screen for cervical cancer. The procedure is usually quick, and while it might cause some discomfort, it is a normal part of health maintenance and vital for early detection of potential issues.
