Peer Court

Peer Court, also known as Teen Court, is a restorative justice program where young people take on roles in a mock judicial system to handle cases involving their peers who have committed minor offenses. Instead of facing traditional punishment, the young offender appears before a jury of their peers, who determine appropriate consequences, such as community service or restitution. This approach encourages accountability, helps offenders understand the impact of their actions, and promotes empathy among participants. It aims to divert youth from the formal juvenile justice system, offering a constructive way to resolve conflicts and learn from mistakes.
