Pediatric Surgical Nursing
Pediatric surgical nursing involves caring for infants, children, and adolescents who need surgical procedures. These nurses prepare young patients for surgery, provide expert pre- and post-operative care, and support families through the process. They monitor vital signs, manage pain, prevent infection, and ensure comfort and safety throughout treatment. Pediatric surgical nurses also work closely with doctors to promote healing and address specific needs unique to children’s development. Their role combines technical skills with compassionate care, helping young patients and their families understand and navigate surgical experiences effectively.
