Pediatric Scoliosis

Pediatric scoliosis is a condition where a child's spine develops an abnormal sideways curvature, often forming an "S" or "C" shape. It can occur at any age from infancy to adolescence, with causes ranging from genetic factors to unknown reasons. Mild cases may cause little or no discomfort, while more severe curvatures can lead to back pain, uneven shoulders, or hips, and affect posture. Treatment depends on the severity and age, including observation, bracing, or surgery. Early detection and management are important to prevent progression and ensure healthy spinal development.
