Pediatric Ovarian Cysts

Pediatric ovarian cysts are fluid-filled sacs that can develop on or inside a girl's ovaries, often during puberty. These cysts are generally benign, meaning they are not cancerous, and they are quite common. Many girls may not experience any symptoms and may not even know they have them. In some cases, cysts can cause abdominal pain or discomfort. Most often, they resolve on their own without treatment. However, if a cyst causes significant symptoms or complications, medical evaluation is necessary to determine the appropriate action. Regular follow-up may be suggested to monitor their development.
