Pediatric Hypospadias Surgery
Pediatric hypospadias surgery is a procedure to correct a birth defect in boys where the urethra, the tube for urine to exit the body, is not located at the tip of the penis. Instead, it may open on the underside. This surgery aims to reposition the urethral opening and often to straighten the penis if there’s curvature. Typically performed when the child is between 6 months and 18 months old, the procedure helps improve urinary function, appearance, and future sexual health. Recovery usually takes a few weeks, and most children experience positive outcomes.
