Pechiney

Pechiney was a major French company specializing in the production of aluminum and aluminum-based products. Founded in 1855, it became one of the world’s leading aluminum producers, involved in extracting bauxite, refining it into alumina, and smelting it into aluminum. The company also manufactured related products such as packaging, construction materials, and automotive parts. In 2006, Pechiney was acquired by the multinational giant Alcan, which itself was later bought by Rio Tinto. Today, Pechiney's legacy continues through its contributions to the global aluminum industry and its innovations in sustainable manufacturing.
