Pearl Roundabout

Pearl Roundabout was a traffic circle in Bahrain named after the country's historic pearl industry. It became a symbol of political unrest when protesters gathered there in 2011 to demand reforms and greater freedoms. The government ordered the roundabout's demolition to quell protests, which led to clashes and heightened tensions. The site was eventually replaced by a public park, but the events at Pearl Roundabout remain significant in Bahrain’s recent history, symbolizing both resistance and change.
