Pearl farming

Pearl farming, also known as pearl aquaculture, is the process of cultivating pearls within mollusks like oysters. Scientists or farmers carefully insert a small bead or tissue into the oyster to stimulate pearl production. Over time—usually several months to years—the oyster coats the irritant with layers of nacre, forming a pearl. Once the pearl reaches the desired size and quality, it is carefully extracted. This controlled process allows for consistent production of high-quality pearls, which are then cleaned, sorted, and sold as jewelry or decorative items.
