Peapods
Peapods are a natural seed dispersal structure produced by pea plants and related legumes. They develop from the plant's seed pods, which mature and dry on the plant. When ripe, peapods naturally split open along their seams, releasing the seeds inside. This mechanism helps the seeds spread away from the parent plant, promoting healthy growth in new areas. In some cases, the pods may also eject the seeds forcefully, aiding dispersal. Peapods essentially serve as both protective containers for the seeds and as a means to ensure the seeds reach suitable locations for germination.
