PDH equipment
PDH (Plesiochronous Digital Hierarchy) equipment is used in telecommunication networks to transmit large amounts of data over fiber optic or copper cables. It efficiently multiplexes multiple data streams, such as voice, video, and internet traffic, into a single, high-capacity signal for long-distance transmission. The "plesiochronous" aspect means the signals are nearly, but not exactly, synchronized, requiring special equipment to manage timing differences. PDH systems are foundational for traditional digital networks, enabling reliable, high-speed communication before newer technologies like SDH/SONET replaced them.
