PCT Route

The PCT route, referring to the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), is an international system that streamlines the process of seeking patent protection in multiple countries. Instead of applying separately in each nation, an inventor submits one international application through the PCT, which is then examined collectively. This process provides an initial global filing, giving applicants more time (up to 30 or 31 months) to decide where to pursue patent rights, conduct market assessments, and gather the necessary resources. The PCT route simplifies the international patent process by offering a unified filing procedure and coordinated examination phases.
