PCM Decoder

A PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) decoder is a device or process that converts digital audio data back into an electrical signal that can drive speakers or headphones. During encoding, sound waves are sampled, measured, and converted into digital numbers. The PCM decoder takes these numbers, interprets them as voltage levels, and reconstructs the original analog sound wave. This allows digital audio stored or transmitted as PCM to be played back accurately on analog audio equipment, ensuring high-quality sound reproduction in devices like CDs, digital telephony, and audio streaming systems.
