Pazyryk mounds

The Pazyryk mounds are ancient burial sites located in the Siberian Altai Mountains, dating back around 2,500 years. These burial mounds, or kurgans, contain well-preserved tombs of nomadic peoples, notably the Pazyryk culture. Archaeologists have uncovered remarkable artifacts, including intricately woven textiles, wooden carvings, and well-preserved frozen mummies with tattoos. The cold climate and permafrost helped preserve these relics, providing invaluable insights into the art, customs, and daily life of early nomadic peoples of Central Asia.
