Payload Calculation
Payload calculation determines the weight a vehicle, such as a spacecraft or aircraft, can carry after accounting for its own weight (like fuel, equipment, and structure). To find the payload, subtract the vehicle’s empty weight and all necessary operational weights from the total allowable weight (maximum safe limit). This ensures the vehicle can safely carry the intended cargo, passengers, or equipment without exceeding its capacity, maintaining safety and performance. Essentially, it's the process of figuring out how much useful load the vehicle can support during its mission or operation.
