Pavlik harness
The Pavlik harness is a medical device used to treat infants with hip dislocation or instability, a condition known as developmental dysplasia of the hip. It consists of adjustable straps that gently hold the baby's hips and thighs in a position that promotes normal joint development. By keeping the hips flexed and abducted (spread apart), the harness encourages proper alignment of the hip joint, allowing the socket to form correctly. The device is typically worn for several weeks under medical supervision, enabling early correction and reducing the need for more invasive procedures later.
