
Paul Laurence Dunbar
Paul Laurence Dunbar (1872-1906) was an influential African American poet, novelist, and playwright, recognized for his role in shaping African American literature in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He was one of the first Black writers to gain national acclaim, known for his use of dialect and standard English in his works.
