Paul Krüger was a prominent South African lawyer and politician, best known as the leader of the South African Republic (Transvaal) during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He was a staunch advocate for Boer independence and resisted British control, most notably during the Anglo-Boer Wars. Krüger served as President of the Transvaal from 1883 to 1900, focusing on strengthening Boer self-governance. His leadership symbolized Afrikaner nationalism and resistance to imperial influence. After the Second Boer War, he went into exile but remained an influential figure in South African history.
