Paul Julian Crutzen was a Dutch scientist renowned for his work in atmospheric chemistry. He played a key role in identifying the "Anthropocene," a proposed new geological era marked by human impact on the Earth’s environment, especially through activities like pollution and climate change. Crutzen's research helped us understand how chemicals like nitrogen compounds and ozone depletion affect the atmosphere. His work highlighted the importance of human influence on Earth's systems and contributed to discussions on environmental sustainability and global change. Crutzen’s contributions earned him the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1995.
