Paul Fitts

Paul Fitts was a psychologist best known for discovering a relationship between the difficulty of a task and how long it takes to complete it. His research showed that the faster you can move to a target, the more precise your movements need to be, and vice versa. This principle, known as Fitts's Law, helps explain how humans interact with tools and interfaces, like typing or using a mouse. Essentially, it provides a way to predict the time required to reach or manipulate objects based on their size and distance, improving the design of products and systems for better human use.
