Pauci-immune glomerulonephritis

Pauci-immune glomerulonephritis is a kidney condition where the immune system mistakenly damages the small filters (glomeruli) in the kidneys. Unlike other autoimmune diseases, it shows little or no immune deposits when viewed under a microscope. It often involves inflammation caused by certain antibodies that attack blood vessels, leading to rapid kidney damage if untreated. This condition may be associated with diseases like granulomatosis with polyangiitis or microscopic polyangiitis. Prompt diagnosis and treatment are essential to prevent permanent kidney loss and manage related symptoms.
