Patty Hearst
Patty Hearst is an American woman who became widely known after being kidnapped by a revolutionary group called the Symbionese Liberation Army in 1974. Following her abduction, she appeared to adopt their cause, participating in criminal activities such as bank robberies, which led many to question whether she was acting under duress or had voluntarily joined the group. Her case sparked debate over issues of kidnapping, coercion, and influence. She was eventually captured, tried, and convicted of her crimes, but her sentence was later commuted by President Jimmy Carter, and she was pardoned in 2001.
