Patsch
The Patsch test is a simple physical exam used by healthcare professionals to assess the function of the lateral patellar (knee cap) tracking and the connectivity among the muscles, tendons, and bones around the kneecap. To perform it, the doctor places their fingers just below the kneecap while the patient contracts the quadriceps muscle (thigh muscle). The test checks for a specific feeling or movement indicating whether the kneecap moves properly during muscle contraction, helping to identify issues like patellar instability or maltracking that can cause pain or knee problems.
