Patronage of Televisions and Eye Diseases
Patronage of televisions refers to the amount of time people spend watching TV. Excessive TV watching can contribute to eye problems such as digital eye strain, dryness, and discomfort due to prolonged focus and reduced blinking. Constant screen exposure may also increase the risk of developing myopia (nearsightedness), especially in children. To protect eye health, it’s recommended to take regular breaks, follow the 20-20-20 rule (look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds every 20 minutes), and maintain proper viewing distance and lighting conditions. Moderation in screen time supports overall eye comfort and health.
