Pathnames

A pathname is like a written address for a file or folder on a computer. It shows the location of that item within the computer's storage system, guiding the system or user to find it. Pathnames can be absolute, starting from the main directory (root), or relative, showing the location based on the current folder you're in. Think of it as giving directions: an absolute pathname provides the full route, while a relative path is like saying "from here, go to this folder." Pathnames help organize and access files efficiently.
