Passive Listening
Passive listening is when you hear someone speak without actively engaging or providing feedback. You might listen to their words without really processing or understanding the message, often without responding or showing interest. It’s like hearing background noise—you’re aware of the sound but not fully paying attention to the content or meaning. While you’re physically present and listening, your mind may not be focused on what’s being said, which can lead to misunderstandings or missed important details. Passive listening is different from active listening, where you intentionally concentrate, understand, and respond to the speaker’s message.
