Partisan Gerrymandering

Partisan gerrymandering is the practice of drawing electoral district boundaries to favor one political party over another. By manipulating district lines, a party can maximize its electoral advantage, often at the expense of fair representation. This can lead to districts that are oddly shaped, diluting the voting power of the opposing party's supporters or concentrating them into a few districts. The goal is to increase the likelihood of winning more seats, regardless of the overall vote share, which can undermine democratic principles of fair and equal representation.
