Partial Hip Replacement
Partial hip replacement, also known as hemiarthroplasty, is a surgical procedure where only the damaged or fractured part of the hip joint, typically the femoral head (top of the thigh bone), is replaced with a metal or plastic prosthesis. This surgery is often performed to treat hip fractures or severe arthritis affecting one side. The goal is to relieve pain, restore mobility, and improve function while preserving the healthy parts of the hip. Recovery involves some physical therapy, and most patients experience significant relief and improved mobility after healing.
