Parliament of the Netherlands
The Parliament of the Netherlands, called the Staten-Generaal, consists of two chambers: the House of Representatives and the Senate. The House of Representatives, with 150 members, is the primary legislative body, proposing and amending laws and scrutinizing the government. Members are elected every four years through proportional representation. The Senate has 75 members chosen indirectly by provincial legislatures, reviewing and approving or rejecting laws passed by the House. Parliament's role is to represent citizens, make laws, oversee the government, and ensure democratic governance within the constitutional framework of the Netherlands.
