Parliament of Finland
The Parliament of Finland is the country’s main legislative body, responsible for making laws, approving the budget, and overseeing the government’s work. It is a unicameral body with 200 Members of Parliament (MPs) elected every four years through proportional representation. The Parliament debates and votes on legislation, and also has roles in confirming policies and treaties. It operates within a parliamentary democracy, meaning the government is accountable to the Parliament. The Parliament’s function ensures that Finnish citizens’ interests are represented in national decision-making.
