Pardon

A pardon is an official forgiveness issued by a government authority, such as a president or governor, that forgives someone for a crime they committed. It doesn't necessarily mean the person was innocent but acknowledges they have served their sentence or shown remorse. A pardon can remove legal penalties, restore rights, and reduce stigma associated with the conviction. It is often granted to help individuals rebuild their lives after serving their punishment or to correct perceived injustices. However, it does not erase the fact that a crime was committed; it simply forgives the punishment associated with it.
