Parametric Surfaces

Parametric surfaces are mathematical representations that describe complex, three-dimensional shapes using variables, typically called parameters. Instead of defining a surface by a simple equation like a sphere or a cube, parametric surfaces use functions to map two parameters (often u and v) to points in three-dimensional space. This approach allows for the flexible modeling of intricate forms, such as organic shapes or detailed engineering surfaces, by adjusting the parameters. It provides a systematic way to generate and analyze complex surfaces with precision, enabling applications in computer graphics, manufacturing, and design.
