Parable of the Sower

The Parable of the Sower is a story Jesus told to illustrate how different people respond to spiritual teachings. A farmer scattered seeds on various types of ground: a path, rocky soil, thorny ground, and good soil. Seeds on the path are eaten by birds; on rocky soil, they sprout but can't grow deep; in thorny ground, they are crowded out by worries; only in good soil do they thrive and produce abundant crops.
